Batik Danar Hadi proudly introduces an integrated cultural complex in Surakarta
that is destined to become a favorite tourist attraction in the historic
Central Java city also known as Solo. It has been established with the aim of
preserving and developing batik in Indonesia as part of the national cultural
heritage. The cultural complex enriches the tourist attractions in Solo, with
visitors able to see the beautifully restored heritage building nDalem
Wuryaningratan and observe first-hand the historical development of batik in
Indonesia. The process of producing batik also is shown on site, and there is
exploration of the emerging phenomenon of batik as a part of a modern
lifestyle. The various attractions are found in several main buildings, from
the Danar Hadi Traditional Batik Museum, Mini Workshop, Danar Hadi Batik Showroom,
and nDalem Wuryaningratan a Javanese Heritage Building (built in early 1900).
